Interesting. Well... I have some suggestions. Heh. 1. You've got a good site, but maybe a different layout? The one you have is nice, but it's the default Proboards skin, and your site will be more original and one-of-a-kind with more color. I'm struggling to learn how to make forums skins with an original code and a original layout so that a the forum will have a nice, unique look. A good place to look would be the Proboards code database. These give you codes that you can put in your layout and change it around. The link is this: support.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=codedatabase&action=display&thread=70177 I know it's a lot to go through, but it does benefit. 2. Erm... the grammar. As the admin, correct grammar and spelling is important- you wouldn't want people to not be able to read what you said. Just start by capitalizing all your titles and start of sentences. Then, just fix the little spelling or grammar mistakes. Also, on Proboards, there is a spell check button. It's quite handy in correcting mistakes. 3. Originality. The skin could be one of a kind, but the site should be one-of-a-kind as well. Do things that other sites wouldn't do. Like say, you want to start a warriors rp site. Don't just go: ThunderClan camp- ThunderClan territory... And so on and so on. Make up your own clans! Or whatever you want! But you'll get a good site with happy members when you're original. 4. I noticed that the first board posted was the 'Games'. Don't you think the first board should have the rules? I didn't ever see a board for the rules. Start with the most important topics and work your way down to the least. The rules are the most important part of the site, so they should be the first thing people see. EDIT: I found the rules board, but it should still be at the top of the page. 5. Maturity. As a admin of a site, the most thing I find important is maturity. You should be able to handle fights, site problems, and other things in a calm and and respectful manner. Take Sheila as a example. When some people are fighting, as much as you hate it, don't go: "I HATE THIS FIGHTING!!! STOOOOPPP!!!! *Growls*" Instead... "Could we please settle down over this topic? There are not right and wrongs in the book series..." You know? Don't make yourself as immature as them. Stay on a mature level. I'm a co-admin on a site and I've had to deal with the issues there. Let me tell you- NOT fun. But, I handled it in a calm and mature manner and mostly everyone came up to me and apologized nicely. It really helped. 6. Also, you could get a co-admin for the site. (Once your site expands and gets more members). This will help you if you're on vacation, or sick, or just can't get on. 7.(Last one) Graphics. This is probably quite minor, but find a nice picture (or request a graphic) or make a graphic to put at the head of the page. It will look quite nice. I'm sorry if some of my comment sounded rude- it's not like I'm saying that you're immature are anything. I'm just saying that you should keep these things in mind when you start your site. So, that's it. Go out and experiment with different things! Make your site describe yourself.

I Get most of what you say. And I have been attempting and failing to get a new skin for the site. As for the rules i didn't even think about them until after I posted the other boards. So then I was like um.........I need to get rules on here. Ok the co admin..... ya Ive bean planning to get some mods. Ok now I just have to go through and fix all my spelling mistakes. (because I just found some)
And yes I agree about not freaking out when there is fights (I like to say and alot)

I'm glad you understand. Also, Wolf or Berry (whichever one of them did the skin) probably know how to change the colors.

Oh! Also, I good place to look around on how to make a original skin, or request one is Kryptonite Graphics. Very good site with a very helpful admin. Here is the link (I'm a member on there as Rubystripe): kryptonitegfx.proboards75.com/index.cgiYou won't be able to access the 'Skin' board if you're not a member, though. =/ Anyway, I know that making a skin involves a lot of Javascript and CSS. I understand HTML but not really those two... *goes to learn*

This has been helpful. But do you know what would make my site funner to run? If people joined it that would make my job funner and easier because I could get mods. And i would also have members to fallow my rules its no fun running a site with no members (ok got that out people can join but I'm still working on the look of the site. It still looks boring and white)

Well, to make a site more fun, you need a wide range of boards. RPs, games, book discussions, debates, talks about the future Warriors movie, ect.

Well, Tree, the reason I put those tips up was so people would start being attracted to your site. You don't have to do this, this is just an idea, but how about putting your site on hiatus? Hiatus is where you close your site down for a set period of time so you can make changes to it without disrupting the people on the site. That's just an idea. And we'll help you with your site.

yes please help me with the site............... I can get the boards up but all this coding and stuff gives me a headache. What I have figured out is how to put up a chat room, How to filter stuff out in the chat room, make boards and category's, and ban members (which I hope I don't have to do)

Okay. Coding involves HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I suggest you start with HTML, which I find easy and fun. A good place to learn all three of these is here: www.w3schools.com/default.aspDo you know any basic HTML? Like on Wands and Worlds, how to make the text italic (<i></i>) or bold (<b></b>) is all HTML.

ive used the basic HTML befor......... I'm just going to work my way up and exsperiment with stuff. and I WILL use that link to learn stuff. right now im just getting evreything in the right order (and I need to remake admin posting and put it at the top )
I go nuts trying to suddenly jump into it. lol
Oh one more thing it might take me a while to figure this out. But at least im not like uh..........what? and my site is still able to be joind. (ok got that said im going to look at wands and worlds )
EDIT ok this is cunfuseing. I now will think about my chouceis. I can keep doing what im doing and have the site fully ready in the next 3 to 4 years (mabie), I can just say its done and somehow have a few peaple join, or i can get some who knows how to do all that stuff to join make them some kind of staff member and have them do it under my instruction

Tree, what I did was do the basic layout of Wawi, and appointed Berrypaw (Riskay), who was the first member, into staff. My reasons? Here:
She has no power over the actual changes to the boards, so I did the skin and handled all of that while she monitored the boards, made the logo, ect. We had Warrior Wing up within a day, looking almost exactly as it did now. I didn't use HTML, so I'm probably just rambling now, so... ^_^;

Ah. I see what you mean when Wolf said she didn't use HTML. What I meant was, if you want to make your own, original skin, that's when it involves CSS and Javascript. That site I posted, Kryptonite Graphics, take a look there. The layout they have was made by the admin on [The Gimp and PSP, I think]. She coded it and put it as the skin. Now, you could do what Wolf did to make the colors on this site. But I don't know anything about THAT so... yeah. ^_^' And also, continue taking a look at the Proboards code database. They provide example codes for you to put on your forum to do specific things to it. But, to make any skin/layout for the web, you'll have to slice it. And if you don't have a program that does that then... I can't help you. But take a good look around those two sites and hopefully they will help. Anyway, I'm getting obsessed with HTML layouts. I've learned that I can make website layouts in Photoshop, but since I have Elements, I don't have the "slice" tool which is necessary to complete your layout and get it ready for the web. *sighs* Though, Ebay has Photoshop CS3 for 299.00 which is $300 cheaper than what it would be if you bought it new. EDIT: I talked to my Dad and he says that the Photoshops on Ebay and Amazon aren't properly lisensed... I'm rambling...

I figured out that they have a color chart that puts the code in for you. (at least thats what it is with me) But members will have to choose that skin the view or els its just the same as it always was (even though its the only one I've got) And guest wont be able to see it. Well at least thats progress. Oh ya one more thing the new skin is kinda bright
EDIT I figured it out now anyone and everyone can see the skin.
Now I Just need a pic up there.......... Any ideas?

In my daily life, I always want things to be done quickly, however, the results tend to turn out just the opposite of what I wish. As the saying goes "more haste, less speed", baste never helps, lebron james basketball shoes 2012 instead it makes waste. Once I was in a hurry trying to catch the train to Shanghai. I packed up and put all the things I would need into a suitcase and locked it. Then I took a taxi and boarded the train on time. When I arrived in Shanghai and was comfortably settled in a hotel, I tried to open my suitcase. To my great disappointment, I found I did not have the key with me. I had left it at home without my knowing it. Another Time I was trying to fill a bettIe with hot water to warm my feet before going to bed. In a hurry, I took the bottle full of "cold water" and poured it out. While I was pouring and cnjoying the sound the liquid made while coming out of the bottle, my brother shouted at me, "Hey, you are pouring out my liqor!" From my own experinece, I draw a painful lesson HASTE MAKES WASTE.
